As the rest of my generation gets more and more consumed by social media, I am taking a more old fashioned approach. In my opinion my generation has become lazy. No one goes out to face to face network anymore. They sit at home and post photos and advertisements to social media and wait on clients to contact them. What happened to face to face networking? What happened to hard nosed grinding to get what you want?
I now strive to take advantage of each encounter with people throughout my day. I see people that cross my path as a God given opportunity for me to touch their soul through my gift. It forms a more reliable bond between you and your clients when you look them in the eye and tell them that you are passionate about your craft. Each event or wedding is also an opportunity to promote as people watch you move and how you carry yourself. I make sure I'm neat, organized, and that I have at least 50 business cards on me at ALL TIMES.
Don't get me wrong, you need a Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat account to promote, but don't rely on it as your sole source of marketing your product or service. Stop taking shortcuts and thinking you'll get noticed and become a millionaire overnight by posting on social media. It wont happen. This is the real world. GET OUT and GRIND.
